Electric Field Analysis of Insulator (EL)
|
Overview |
|
Electric field analysis is often essential for electrical and electronic
devices, and for electric power devices containing insulated structures.
Here, evaluation is performed to determine the distribution and concentration
of the electric field around the metal sections, with and without fine
horns, connected to an insulator (See Figure 1). Meshing is usually difficult with a model like this because the model has a complex geometry and sharp metal parts, but the JMAG automatic mesh generation feature makes this simple (See Figure 2). A high quality mesh is generated, including parts meshed according to the object size, to give high accuracy. Figure 3 shows the distribution of electric potential and distribution of field strength around the metal parts of the model. |
