The latest version of JMAG-Studio is version 9.0. The new features are presented below.
You can also see the new functions of the previous versions: version 8.4, version 8.3 and version 8.1.

JMAG-Studio Version 9.0 offers full flexibility that allows the user to handle a variety of models in simulation analysis. The enhanced operability includes a tool for setting conditions on multiple parts at a time, which reduces the time and effort required for large model.

The upgraded Motor Template tool now allows the user to customize the template. This was the most frequent request from users. With this option, the user can easily create an FEM model based on the template even without being familiar with how to use JMAG.

OVERVIEW

Motor Template 2.0 - top
Easily creates a motor analysis model

Create and edit customized design template

Automatically setup coil winding and circuit configurations

   Create parametric models

   Supported motor models:
        - Brushless motor
        - Reluctance motor
        - Universal motor
        - Brush motor
        - Induction motor

Motor Template 2.0

Enhanced Motor Analysis - top
 Brush motor
    - Defined up to 16 brushes
    - Configure each brush separately with the settings for width, position, and contact resistance
    - Automatically set the coil connection with either wave winding or lap winding patterns

6 pole 19 slot brush motor with 2 brushes (60 degree Intervals between the brushes)
 Induction motor
    - New cage component for modeling the rotor bars
    - Automatically setup the multiple bar conditions

Enhanced Material Modeling - top
Define custom stress dependent magnetizing properties and iron loss properties.

Incomplete magnetization analysis tool provides the setup for recoil relative permeability and coercive force that allows for the magnetization field.
Supported pattern magnetization skew and step skew.

Modeling of magnetic gap by the gap condition.

Models Supported in JMAG-RT Solution - top
Create reduced order models from the FEM model for use in control simulators.

Set geometries and material properties for the FEM model to be taken into account in the control simulation.

New linear motor models are added in version 9.0.

 Models supported in JMAG-RT Solution:
    - Three-phase PM synchronous motor
    - Two-phase stepper motor
    - Linear solenoid
    - Linear motor

Improved Interface for the Direct Link to Control/Circuit Simulators - top
Link JMAG magnetic field analysis and control/circuit simulation.

Allow for high harmonic components in loss evaluation.

Set the time steps for magnetic field analysis and control/circuit simulation individually, realizing a remarkable reduction in analysis time compared to the former method of linking them at each step.

Enhanced Coupled Thermal-Magnetic Field Analysis - top
Include the temperature dependency of the coil resistance in the magnetic analysis model.

Mapping for loss and temperature distribution.
    - Link between a thermal analysis model and magnetic field analysis model with different dimensions and geometries.
    - Create a thermal analysis model independent of a magnetic field analysis model

Allow the loss generated in coil to be transferred to the thermal analysis even if the models have different dimensions and coil configurations as shown on the left.
